How Content Marketing is Like Publishing
We’ve come a long way since Gutenberg. Just as the printing press was was a liberator and became a vehicle for literacy and portability of communications–so too is the digital age, computing and, YES, content marketing. CM shouts that CONTENT IS KING. Content is important to accelerate communication to both narrow audiences and the masses.
But as marketers we many times want that specialized market’s attention. CM is a way to do that through high-quality content.
First things first–have a plan. Map out your content and intended consequences or ROI. And profile your audience; build persona’s of whom you want your content to go to and what you want them to do about it. In true publishing style though, make it newsworthy, not “salesy.” Content is always the key.
